The Zimmerman's are settling into the new "empty nest" reality of no kids at home. Shelbe lasted 4 weeks before the itch to go back to work got the best of her. She is working at a semiconductor company as a temporary worker in the accounting department. She is a clerk opening bills, scanning, matching PO's and submitting electronic paper work to get suppliers paid. When she has time she also processes expense reports. Not very glamorous, but a start back into the work force after being off for 10 years as a home maker. She is still keeping up her tennis games but mostly at night, and she is also playing kick ball. Riley has reason to feel a neglected, so we both cram try to cram walks in before and after work. At times she refuses to walk unless both of us go together on the walk -- our therapy dog? Greg and Taylor are back at UCF and University of Florida respectively. Taylor is a freshman, learning that the Gators are not invincible in the post Tebow years. Greg's UCF knights are doing well and have an exciting freshman quarterback. Taylor is learning Freshman chemistry is her challenging course, both kids have calculus and physics, each says they help tutor the other? Dad is finishing up the master bathroom remodel, the new shower is functioning and nice. I had to remove the water saver washer from the new natural rain shower head before I could like it. I have covered the Vette since its sad performance with the Boulter drivers. Hoping to start that project this weekend and have it driving by Thanksgiving. Last bit of news, after wanting to try a ski vacation for many years only to have soccer tournaments disrupt all plans, the Zimmerman's have reserved a cabin and made airplane reservations to ski over the holidays. The planned visit to Salt Lake or Colorado slopes evaporated under the rising costs of airfare, housing, lift tickets, and rentals. We opted to fly back to Pennsylvania, say high to my mom and dad in Bethlehem, borrow the car and drive to Elk Mountain in Union County PA, north of Scranton near the NY border. We have a 4 bedroom house with a bunk room (sleeps 12 in beds) and hope the Zimmerman cousins and family will all join us for 3 days of skiing. Greg and Taylor are excited to give it a try after long last. I plan on taking it easy after a re-introduction to racquetball left me so sore I could hardly move for a week. That's all, we hope everyone is healthy and together for the holidays. We were glad do see everyone, we will cherish the memories.
